The Haven Outpatient Program incorporates culturally responsive, evidenced-based treatment methods with a holistic approach to the individualized treatment needs of each client.
We utilize the Matrix Model, an intensive abstinence-based outpatient treatment approach for substance abuse and dependence. Within this model, clients receive direction and support from a master’s level therapist, become familiar with self-help programs and participate in relapse prevention groups, trauma-based cognitive-behavioral individual and group therapy, substance use education groups, and social-support groups.
Most individuals have conflicting feelings about their substance use. They realize that their behavior is destructive and unhealthy, yet they are unable to stop using substances. At The Haven, we utilize Motivational Interviewing to help clients examine and resolve their ambivalence towards their substance use and reach a place where they are ready to build a plan for positive change.
Admitting your substance use issues to others can be embarrassing, stigmatizing and isolating. Women battling substance use dependency often feel defeated, hopeless and that no one understands what they are really going through. That’s why peer supports and recovery coaches are so integral to a women’s recovery process. At The Haven we give our clients the opportunity to forge relationships with other women who have “walked in their shoes” and are living proof that a substance-free life is possible.
