Make plans to join us at the Arizona Inn on March 19, 2020, for The Haven’s 14th Annual Chrysalis Award Luncheon. Our annual luncheon gives us the opportunity to acknowledge members of the community who have contributed to the well-being of recovering families and have helped change lives. At this year’s luncheon we will be honoring Jonathan Rothschild, former mayor of Tucson.
Jonathan Rothschild served as mayor of Tucson from December 2011 until December 2019. During his 8 years in office, he helped settle the long-standing Rio Nuevo dispute, which opened a new era of downtown redevelopment. He codified and increased incentives for Tucson businesses. And, he led efforts to pass a $100 million road improvement bond, the first in the city for many years.
Former Mayor Rothschild’s work in Mexico has been recognized in both Washington, DC and Mexico City. He is a leading advocate for developing infrastructure in Sonora and Arizona that will create an economic region where both states are prosperous and secure.
Initiatives like the Mayor’s Reading Challenge, 10,000 Trees for Tucson, and Tucson Moves a Million Miles are just a few examples of how Jonathan Rothschild worked to engage the community in creating a healthier Tucson. Prior to becoming mayor, he had a 30-year career practicing law with the firm of Mesch Clark Rothschild.
