Sad as it is for us to say – and trust me, it really is sad – we are cancelling the 2020 Chrysalis Luncheon scheduled for March 19th at the Arizona Inn. We prefer to be cautious rather than risk the health of our supporters, and so, due to the Coronavirus, we feel it’s necessary to cancel. We will miss you all. For those who have already purchased tickets, please contact Suzi Armenta at 520-623-4590 xt 108 if you would like your purchase refunded. If we do not hear from you by March 31st, we shall gratefully accept the monies you sent for the ticket(s) as a donation in support of our programs. If you choose the donation option, please let us know your decision, and we will send a new acknowledgment letter for tax purposes.
Hopefully, we will be acknowledging Jonathan Rothschild in 2021. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s luncheon!
Jonathan Rothschild served as mayor of Tucson from December 2011 until December 2019. During his 8 years in office, he helped settle the long-standing Rio Nuevo dispute, which opened a new era of downtown redevelopment. He codified and increased incentives for Tucson businesses. And, he led efforts to pass a $100 million road improvement bond, the first in the city for many years.
Former Mayor Rothschild’s work in Mexico has been recognized in both Washington, DC and Mexico City. He is a leading advocate for developing infrastructure in Sonora and Arizona that will create an economic region where both states are prosperous and secure.
Initiatives like the Mayor’s Reading Challenge, 10,000 Trees for Tucson, and Tucson Moves a Million Miles are just a few examples of how Jonathan Rothschild worked to engage the community in creating a healthier Tucson. Prior to becoming mayor, he had a 30-year career practicing law with the firm of Mesch Clark Rothschild.
