Our Team

For more than half a century, The Haven has provided women with dedicated, gender-specific substance use recovery services in Tucson.

The Haven has an exceptionally caring staff of medical care providers, recovery coaches, and mental health professionals dedicated to improving the lives of our members in judgment-free surroundings. 

There are simply too many people to name here who are part of the network of compassionate, caring individuals behind our mission. This page will introduce you to our core leadership team. These individuals are responsible for creating and supervising our residential and outpatient programs. Addiction recovery is a journey, and our leadership team will be there for you every step of the way.

Aimee Graves

Aimee Graves, MA
Chief Executive Officer

Aimee joined The Haven in February 2022 as our Chief Executive Officer. She brings over 15 years of executive-level experience and a career spanning over 23 years in community-based nonprofit organizations that serve people recovering from addiction and mental health disorders. Her experience encompasses a broad range of prevention, early intervention and treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Cynthia Duncan, BS, NPS
Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration

Cynthia, non-profit accounting specialist, joined The Haven in 2012. She has worked with The American Red Cross, The Arizona Aerospace Foundation, and Temple Emanu-El since 1998. Prior to devoting herself to non-profit accounting, she worked in the medical and health insurance industries with a series of businesses that started as PimaCare, back in the 1980’s, and ended with the Physician Services division at TMC.

Latricia Clary

Latricia Clary, MBA
Vice President of Human Resources

Latricia joined The Haven in August 2022 as our Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to joining The Haven, Latricia earned a BA in Psychology with a Concentration in Addictions Counseling and an MBA in Human Resources Management. With a combined 14 years of experience in Business Management and Healthcare, she brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. Her solution focused approach to strategic management, employee acquisition and development, and regulatory compliance strengthens our goal to bring Human Resources to the forefront. She is dedicated to creating a robust company culture through ethical practices, diversity, and inclusion.

Emilia Honkasaari

EMILIA HONKASAARI, MSOCSC
Vice President of Communications and Development

Emilia is a communications professional with over ten years of experience in content creation, project management, and event coordination. She joined The Haven in May 2022. Emilia earned her Master’s Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Helsinki and started her career at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland working in Russia, Norway, and Washington D.C. Prior to joining The Haven, she was helping political candidates and nonprofits with their communications needs in San Diego.

Nancy Williams

Nancy Williams, BC, PMHNP, ANP, MSN
Medical Director

Nancy was born and raised in Hollywood, CA and became a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse in 1986. She completed graduate and post graduate studies at The University of Arizona in 2000. She is Board Certified and license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Additionally, she is a licensed Adult-General Medicine Nurse Practitioner. Nancy has over 21 years of experience working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in various healthcare settings. She has experience with ages 7- to 100-year olds, addressing various symptoms of mental and physical health, as well as chemical and alcohol addictions.

Allison La Croix, LMSW
Residential Program Manager

“Tomorrow is another day”—that’s Allison’s motto. Bringing a future-oriented perspective to our residential program, Allison is constantly taking feedback from members to better support their recovery and serve future members. Allison offers a calm, empathetic ear to both residents in recovery and other providers on our residential team as our Residential Program Manager. Allison joined The Haven in 2020 and she brings nine years of experience to the role.

Violet Krieger, LAC, MS
Outpatient Program Manager

Violet Krieger began her journey at The Haven in September 2023 as a Residential Therapist. Following a brief tenure elsewhere, she returned and was promoted to Outpatient Program Manager in January 2025. A Licensed Associate Counselor, she brings over a decade of experience in the behavioral health field. Violet holds a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University and has worked as a Therapist and Clinical Director in various community-based organizations. She is a strong advocate for person-centered, trauma-informed care and thrives in collaborative, dynamic team environments.

Vondi Grijalva
Admissions Supervisor

Vondi is a native of Tucson, Arizona and began working for The Haven in 2015. Since then, she has experienced working as Residential Office Manager, Case Aid, Residential Case Manager, IOP Case Manager, Admissions Representative and currently Admissions Supervisor. Vondi is also a 2012 Haven Alumna and a proud indigenous women of the Tohono O’Odaham and Pascua Yaqui Nations. Vondi honors and embraces all of those whose lives are directly impacted by substance use. She draws from personal experience and has a strong passion for criminal justice reform.  

Mary Castaneda

Mary Castaneda, BHT, NCPRSS, ADS
Recovery Coach/Peer Mentor Supervisor

Mary has been in the behavioral health field for over ten years and joined The Haven in July 2017. Her experience includes Residential, IOP and Outpatient, and she has worked as Administrative Assistant, Clinical Case Manager, Residential Technician, Recovery Coach, Program Manager, Program Supervisor, and Recovery Coach/Peer Mentor Supervisor. Mary earned her Associates Degree in Social Services from Pima Community College in 2023. She is also a licensed Auricular Acupuncturist in the State of Arizona.
