Please join us on Sunday, August 27 for an International Overdose Awareness Day Community Event. International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event held on August 31 each year that aims to raise awareness of overdose and reduce the stigma of a drug related death.
The Haven is participating in the Enlightening Hope Project’s 3rd Annual Overdose Awareness Day community event on Sunday, August 27. The event is organized in collaboration with HOPE Inc.
This year’s theme is “Recognizing those people who go unseen.” It is a time to honor the people whose lives have been altered by overdose; family and friends grieving the loss of a loved one; workers in healthcare and support services; first responders who selflessly assume the role of lifesaver.
The event aims to acknowledge and support the people in our communities who go unrecognized by raising awareness of the hidden impacts of overdose, promoting education of overdose response, and reaching out to politicians to make lasting, lifesaving policy changes.
Date: Sunday, August 27 at 3:30pm-7:00pm
Location: Hope Inc, 1200 N Country Club Rd, Tucson
